Notice Regarding Ambulance Emergency Medical Services

Edgmont Township remains committed to maximizing emergency response to best ensure timely Emergency Medical Services (EMS) for Edgmont residents and businesses during medical emergencies. The deployment and status of EMS units continues to be dynamic and Edgmont has decided to look more closely at the current EMS service delivery model for the township.

The Board of Supervisors feels that to best meet the needs of Edgmont residents and the community, changes in the EMS response plan are essential to timely medical care. The township will continue to rely on Main Line Health EMS (MLHEMS), dispatched out of Newtown Square, as the closest appropriate unit to residents in certain areas of the township. In addition, the township will also partner with the Rocky Run Fire Company EMS (RREMS) in Middletown Township, to service a portion of Edgmont’s primary coverage area in which RREMS is the closest appropriate unit. Please review the map so that you are familiar with which EMS service is responsible for service to your home or business. This map has been provided to the Delaware County Department of Emergency Services and deployment of EMS services according to the map will begin Sunday, March 15th. You need not take any action to activate the change in EMS service providers. If you have already signed up for an EMS subscription service for 2026, and your EMS provider changes as of March 15th, your new EMS provider is required to honor the subscription service for the balance of this year. Going forward, subscription services may only be offered by the EMS provider authorized to provide EMS services to your home or business. If you have questions on the change in EMS services providers, please contact the Township Office at 610-459-1662.

Child Safety Seat Checks: The PA State Police offers free certified child safety seat installation and checks. A trooper will explain how to correctly install the seat, correct any installation errors, and provide information on installation best practices and use of the seat. The Media Barracks offers these checks the 2nd Wednesday of each month, at 1342 W. Baltimore Pike, Media, PA. (P) 484-840-1000.

Comcast Channel Changes: Please be advised as of June 25, 2025, WDCA-Fox Weather will no longer be available. Fox Weather HD is available on channel 1108 with an X1 TV Box and Extra TV, Popular TV, or the Sport & News genre pack. HD Technology Fee may be required.

Upcoming PECO Pole Replacement and Vegetation work in the Township: An upcoming electrical project including pole replacement and vegetation work begin in mid-March, and take place on Creek Road, Grist Mill Road, Locksley Road, Old Gradyville Road, Skyline Drive, and Slitting Mill Road. Tree work is expected to be completed in May 2025, with electrical work immediately following. The project is expected to be completed in December 2025. In addition, to try and reduce power outages caused by vegetation, PECO will be trimming and removing trees along Sweetwater Road, Valley Road, Sycamore Mills Road, Yarnell Lane, Gradyville Road, Meadow Lane, Slitting Mill Road, Farmers Lane, and Pheasant Lane.

Transparency in Coverage (TCR) machine-readable files (MRFs) provision: The TCR requires health plans and plan sponsors to make in-network and out-of-network machine-readable files available to the public on their website by July 1, 2022.

The Official Edgmont Township Facebook Page: At the May 10, 2022, Regular Board of Supervisors meeting, the Board approved the Edgmont Township Social Media Policy. This policy addresses the fast and ever-changing landscape of the dissemination of information and the way Edgmont Township communicates. Grant Awards

Low Volume Road Grant: Edgmont Township was awarded a 2026 Low Volume Road Grant from the Delaware County Conservation District in the amount of $21,265.00 for Phase II of stormwater repairs on Charter Oak Drive, near Canter Drive. In December, The Township completed a 2025 Low Volume Road Grant in the amount of $22,065.00 from the Delaware County Conservation District for Phase I of the stormwater repairs on Charter Oak Drive. DCED Greenways Trails & Recreation Grant Award: Edgmont Township was awarded $76,939.00 in funding from the PA Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) Greenways Trails and Recreation Program! Funds will be used to create a Master Plan for the Cisler Tract, which is currently inaccessible to the public. The goal with this project is to layout a plan for future public use that would provide opportunities for a combination of passive and active recreational space. Thank you DCED!

DCED Local Share Account Grant Award: Edgmont Township was awarded $240,500.00 in funding from the PA Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) Local Share Account (LSA) — Statewide Program! Funds will be used for invasive plant remediation at the Cisler Tract located at 1031 Gradyville Road. The goal with this project is to preserve and enhance natural resources and features while preparing the land for future public use. Thank you DCED!

DCED Local Share Account Grant Award: Edgmont Township was awarded $250,000.00 in funding from the PA Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) Local Share Account (LSA) — Statewide Program! Funds will be used to enhance the barn located on Township property at 5180 West Chester Pike. The goal with this project is to utilize the barn as a Township public works facility. Thank you DCED!
