Edgmont Township Manager Job Announcement
Edgmont Township, located in Delaware County, PA, is seeking a highly qualified and experienced individual for the position of Township Manager. The ideal candidate will possess excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills and will be responsible for overseeing all administrative and operational functions of the Township. Edgmont Township is known as the emerald of Delaware County, as it incorporates a strong sense of community, historical roots, natural beauty, and thriving business districts. The Township is a second-class Township governed by a three-member Board of Supervisors. The Township has 4,606 residents, is 9.8 square miles in area, and is home to Ridley Creek State Park.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the Township, including supervising staff, coordinating department activities, and implementing Township policies.
- Oversee the preparation of the Township’s annual budget, including capital planning and financial management.
- Advise and work closely with the Board of Supervisors, attending all meetings and preparing reports and agendas as required.
- Administer and enforce all Township ordinances and policies.
- Serve as the Township’s primary point of contact for residents, businesses, and local, county, and state officials.
- Oversee public works, emergency services coordination, zoning, and planning functions.
- Manage contracts, grants, and Township projects, ensuring efficient use of Township resources.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Political Science, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in municipal government, with at least 3 years in a managerial or leadership role.
- Proven ability to work with elected officials, community groups, and residents.
- Strong knowledge of municipal budgeting, finance, and public policy.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Familiarity with Pennsylvania municipal codes and regulations is a plus.
