What happens to stray dogs picked up within the Township?

The Township has a contract with the Delaware County Animal Control Board which allows animal control officers to bring stray dogs to the Brandywine Veterinary Hospital, located at 1270 Baltimore Pike, Chadds Ford. The cost of the animal control officer and hospital services is $250 per animal which is paid by the Township. Dog owners who claim their pets are then invoiced this fee by the Township. Stray dogs can be reported to the Township Animal Control Officer, Allen Strickler, at 610-656-9636.
