Cross Connection and Televising Permit Application

Public Sewer District Resale Requirement for Residential and Non-Residential

For residential and non-residential property owners in the Public Sewer District, there is a mandatory resale requirement to have the sewer connection, also known as a lateral or building sewer, televised and any cross-connections inspected by the Township. Property owners are required to notify the Township at least 30 days before selling their house, dwelling, or building to complete this requirement. This allows enough time to make any necessary repairs before the settlement date. Applications are available on the right hand side.

Note: Properties with septic systems are exempt from this permit requirement. If you are unsure whether your property is located within the Public Sewer District, a map is available HERE

Cross Connection & Televising

If a property has not had a Township-witnessed televising inspection within the last five years prior to the current resale date, a cross-connection and televising inspection is required. The cross-connection inspection must be completed by the Township Inspector, Linn Architects. The inspector will need access to the interior of the house, dwelling, or building. The televising of the sewer line must be performed by a contractor hired by the homeowner.

Once the Township receives the permit application and fee, the owner or agent should contact the contractor to schedule the televising appointment. The owner or agent must also contact the Township Inspector to schedule the cross-connection inspection. Please ensure someone is available at the property to provide the inspector access to the interior during the inspection. Linn Architects is not required to witness the televising; however, the Township must receive a copy of the recording on a thumb drive or other digital format for review. YouTube links or online videos will not be accepted. Please email the televising file to: Edgmontadmin@edgmont.orgA copy of the televising must be submitted to the Township upon completion and before a Certificate of Compliance can be issued. The permit fee is $250.00.

Cross Connection only

The inspection will be performed by the Township Inspector, Linn Architects. Please contact the Township to confirm whether a televising inspection was completed within the past five years. A cross-connection inspection is required every time a property is sold. The permit fee is $150.00.
