The Edgmont Township Community Park
The Park is located at 800 Gradyville Road, adjacent to the Township Office. This is the Township’s first and only municipally owned recreational facility. The park is approximately three (3) acres and offers visitors a large playset with slides and activities for all ages. The park includes picnic tables, a pet waste station, a walking trail with benches, a multi-purpose field, which is perfect for kicking balls, throwing frisbees, or just relaxing, plenty of parking, and full ADA access to all areas of the park.
Most recently, thanks to the efforts of Township Staff, Edgmont received a 2018 PECO Green Region Open Space Program Grant, in the amount of $5,000 to install swings at the Park in the multi-purpose field. The project was completed during the 2019 Summer season and consists of 4 swings; 2 traditional belt swings, 1 baby swing, and 1 ADA swing.
The Park officially opened in September 2017, and has been the center of attention by many residents and outside visitors. Be sure to visit during park hours, which are from dawn, until dusk. Come stop by to see what the new Edgmont Township Park has to offer you and your family!
The Township was successful in securing grants and donations to cover a large amount of the park construction costs. A huge thank you again to the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) for granting the Township $220,000, the Department of Conservation and Economic Development for granting the Township approximately $218,000, TreeVitalize for granting the Township approximately $8,000, Buckeye Pipeline for its donation of $8,500, PECO Green Region Open Space Program for granting the Township $5,000, Toll Brothers Inc. for their donation of fill dirt, and Randy Bates for his donation of several mature trees!
